Communications and Marketing Lead

SUMMARY


We are looking for a Communications and Marketing Lead for our client in the non-profit sector.  This role reports to the CEO Office and plays a key role in supporting the Organization’s position as a leader in the continuing care sector by helping to plan and implement key initiatives that reinforce the organization’s brand and visual identity.

In this role, you will collaborate with executive leadership, operational leaders, and internal teams across the organization, as well as external writers, design and production providers, to deliver a range of internal and external communications and marketing initiatives, including advertising, website content, special events, social media, and collateral design (e.g., posters, presentations, etc.). Ensuring consistency in the Organization’s messaging and visual identity across all platforms is critical. Success in this role requires strong judgement, the ability to influence without authority, excellent organizational and time management skills. The successful candidate will have a high level of emotional intelligence and success as a “strategic doer”.  An understanding of metrics analysis and reporting is also essential.


You will support and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the organization and drive the effective execution of projects. The work is often deadline-driven, involving multiple, concurrent tasks, with flexibility to support additional duties as they arise. The Communications and Marketing Lead is entrusted with handling sensitive and confidential information.

 

Responsibilities

 

Service Excellence:

·      Leads the Organization’s communications and marketing initiatives by executing strategies that promote the organization, building strong internal and external relationships.

·      Provides communications and marketing guidance to stakeholders and collaborates with external agencies as needed.

·      Develops and executes communications plans (social media, media relations, etc.) that promote the Organization and its mission of 'Creating Caring Communities’.

·      Celebrates and promotes the Organization’s success stories, highlighting residents, families, care providers, and leadership through social media and other outlets.

·      Stays current with communications and marketing best practices and identifies opportunities for process improvements.

·      Develops and maintains content for internal and external websites and social media accounts to engage audiences.

·      Produces written and visual content for newsletters, social media, and other platforms.

·      Supports the brand by ensuring the organization’s visual identity is consistent across all materials.

·      Coordinates events, photoshoots, and video production.

·      Manages the image library and other employee brand and communications resources.

·      Collaborates on the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.

·      Tracks and monitors communications and marketing metrics providing data-informed insights and recommendations to leaders.

·      Develops consistent data-driven reports and recommendations for marketing activities.

 

Leadership:

·      Builds and fosters a culture of collaboration by supporting team members and contributing to organizational initiatives.

·      Works closely with executive leadership and other internal stakeholders to ensure communications projects are completed successfully on time and on budget.

·      Oversees project management for internal and external communications and marketing initiatives.

·      Manages vendor estimates and invoice reviews and processing, as required.

·      Ensures adherence to overall Marketing and Communications budget.

Qualifications


Education:

·      Post-secondary diploma/degree in a relevant field such as communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism or related experience.

·      5+ years of progressively responsible experience in communications and marketing, with demonstrated advisory or consultative responsibilities. Experience in the non-profit sector and/or a healthcare environment is an asset.

·      Experience working with senior leaders, managing vendors, and advising on organizational messaging is strongly preferred.

·      Event planning, photography, and graphic design experience are considered an asset.

·      Valid Class 5 driver’s license (occasional travel to various sites is required).

 

Additional Skills:

·      Proven strategic thinking and organizational navigation skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

·      Excellent writing and editing skills for a variety of platforms.

·      Strong understanding of digital marketing and communications, all social media platforms and website content management systems.

·      Highly effective interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.

·      Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic Adobe Creative Cloud tools (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop), and/or Canva.

·      AI expertise is a strong asset.
